The Island Star, Cruise Ship

A look at the Island Cruises ship, the Island Star from external viewpoints.

From 2006 to 2008 we took 4 cruises on the Island Star. It wasn't the smallest ship we had ever been on but at the time it was the biggest, though by today's standards it would be classed as a small ship. Here she is in 2006 moored up in Ibiza town.

On that cruise we visited Villefranche in France and she moored in the bay whilst we used tender boats to get ashore.

This is the view you get as you approach Island Star from the rear.

Another shot of the ship in Ibiza.

Bright sunshine in the port of Valencia, Spain in 2007.

A less sunny start to the day in Naples, 2008, although it did brighten up mid-morning.

A closer look in Livorno.

At Mahon on the island of Menorca, we returned to the ship opting for a glass of something cool on the quayside before getting back onboard. Launched in 1990 the ship cruised for thirty years, before being laid up due to Covid in 2020. She was scrapped in 2022.
