Rattenburg, Glass Blowing and Sketching

Monday 11 August 2003. After leaving Innsbruck we journey to the glass blowing town of Rattenburg.

One glass blowing factory gives us a short presentation and then we look around the small museum and large shop, before dragging Mum out before she can do more damage to Dad's wallet...

We were here in the winter of 2002 and it's a lot warmer and jollier this time! The streets have cafe tables outside and there are far more people wandering about, none of whome are wearing thick coats and hats.

I skip on ahead because I remember a quiet corner with a very quaint ivy-covered inn with a walkway over the alley linking it to the opposite building.

The reason for skipping ahead was that I wanted to do a sketch. As it was I only had about 20 minutes so all the ivy got done later. The couple that came to sneak a peek this day turned out to be Dutch and they spoke English well!
