Just found this blog great fun looking at ...Hi John<br />Just found this blog great fun looking at all the old pics of Blackpool thanks for sparking some good memories. The pictures of the log flume bring to mind an incident in the long dry summer of 1976 when I was 16 and had a holiday job working in the arcade opposite the wild mouse giving out change to people playing the Kentucky derby game.It was the practice to take lunch breaks at the Star Inn just by the southern end of the Pleasure beach, being 16 I only drank orange juice HONESTLY!,as we were walking back 1 hot afternoon a debate began about whether it was safe to swim in the small lake that the log flume ride went over or if it was to polluted bets were taken and possibly under the influence of to many orange juices 2 of us took up the challenge to swim across the lake. Chaos ensued as someone set of the general alarm and we just managed to get across the lake dodging the log flume staff and get back to the arcade and into our clothes. We spent an uncomfortable couple of hours with wet hair and soggy underwear as security staff searched for the idiots who went for a dip in the log flume!Happy days Gavingavinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14868882402252080115noreply@blogger.com
